Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father’s bed, his birthright was givenunto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckonedafter the birthright.
The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bearbuckler and sword, and to shootwith bow, and skilful in war, werefour and fortythousandsevenhundred and threescore, thatwent out to the war.

And the God of Israelstirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgathpilneserking of Assyria, and he carriedthemaway, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the halftribe of Manasseh, and broughtthemuntoHalah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the riverGozan, untothis day.
