ThenSolomonspakeunto all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to everygovernor in all Israel, the chief of the fathers.
So Solomon, and all the congregationwith him, went to the highplacethat was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, whichMoses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness.
Moreover the brasenaltar, thatBezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, he put before the tabernacle of the LORD: and Solomon and the congregationsoughtunto it.
And Solomonwent up thither to the brasenaltarbefore the LORD, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousandburntofferingsupon it.
And God said to Solomon, Becausethis was in thineheart, and thouhast not askedriches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thineenemies, neither yet hastaskedlonglife; but hastaskedwisdom and knowledge for thyself, thatthoumayestjudge my people, overwhom I havemadetheeking:
Wisdom and knowledge is granteduntothee; and I willgivetheeriches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kingshave had thathavebeenbeforethee, neithershallthere any aftertheehave the like.
And Solomongatheredchariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and fourhundredchariots, and twelvethousandhorsemen, which he placed in the chariotcities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
And theyfetched up, and broughtforth out of Egypt a chariot for six hundredshekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so broughtthey out horses for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by theirmeans.
