Paul, an apostle of JesusChrist by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saintswhich are in all Achaia:
Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfortthemwhich are in any trouble, by the comfortwherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
And whether we be afflicted, it is for yourconsolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the samesufferingswhich we alsosuffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for yourconsolation and salvation.
For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our troublewhichcame to us in Asia, that we werepressed out of measure, abovestrength, insomuchthat we despairedeven of life:
For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godlysincerity, not withfleshlywisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and moreabundantly to you-ward.
When I therefore was thusminded, did I use lightness? or the thingsthat I purpose, do I purposeaccording to the flesh, thatwith me thereshould be yea yea, and nay nay?
