Now Elisha was fallensick of his sicknesswhereof he died. And Joash the king of Israelcamedownunto him, and weptover his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsementhereof.
And he said, Open the windoweastward. And he opened it. ThenElishasaid, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORD’Sdeliverance, and the arrow of deliverancefromSyria: for thoushaltsmite the Syrians in Aphek, tillthouhaveconsumedthem.
And it came to pass, as theywereburying a man, that, behold, theyspied a band of men; and theycast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.
And the LORD was graciousuntothem, and had compassion on them, and had respectuntothem, because of his covenantwithAbraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroythem, neithercast he themfrom his presence as yet.
And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaztookagain out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Threetimes did Joashbeat him, and recovered the cities of Israel.
