Wherein the kinggranted the Jewswhichwere in everycity to gatherthemselvestogether, and to stand for theirlife, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and provincethatwouldassaultthem, bothlittleones and women, and to take the spoil of them for a prey,
And Mordecaiwent out from the presence of the king in royalapparel of blue and white, and with a greatcrown of gold, and with a garment of finelinen and purple: and the city of Shushanrejoiced and was glad.
And in everyprovince, and in everycity, whithersoever the king’scommandment and his decreecame, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the landbecameJews; for the fear of the Jewsfelluponthem.
