The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir treeswere not like his boughs, and the chesnuttreeswere not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was likeunto him in his beauty.
And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and haveleft him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth are gonedownfrom his shadow, and haveleft him.
To the end thatnone of all the trees by the watersexaltthemselves for theirheight, neithershoot up their top among the thickboughs, neithertheirtreesstand up in theirheight, all thatdrinkwater: for they are all delivereduntodeath, to the netherparts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, withthemthat go down to the pit.
Thussaith the Lord GOD; In the day when he wentdown to the grave I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floodsthereof, and the greatwaterswerestayed: and I causedLebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the fieldfainted for him.
I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hellwiththemthatdescendinto the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all thatdrinkwater, shall be comforted in the netherparts of the earth.
To whom art thouthuslike in glory and in greatnessamong the trees of Eden? yet shaltthou be broughtdownwith the trees of Edenunto the netherparts of the earth: thoushalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcisedwiththemthat be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.
