And the LORDsaidunto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a markupon the foreheads of the men thatsigh and that cry for all the abominationsthat be done in the midstthereof.
Slayutterly old and young, bothmaids, and littlechildren, and women: but come not near any man uponwhom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Thentheybegan at the ancient men whichwerebefore the house.
And it came to pass, whiletheywereslayingthem, and I was left, that I fellupon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wiltthoudestroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy furyuponJerusalem?
Thensaid he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedinggreat, and the land is full of blood, and the cityfull of perverseness: for they say, The LORDhathforsaken the earth, and the LORDseeth not.
