The smithwith the tongsbothworketh in the coals, and fashioneth it withhammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strengthfaileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint.
The carpenterstretcheth out his rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it withplanes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.
Thenshall it be for a man to burn: for he willtakethereof, and warmhimself; yea, he kindleth it, and bakethbread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a gravenimage, and fallethdownthereto.
And noneconsidereth in his heart, neither is thereknowledge nor understanding to say, I haveburnedpart of it in the fire; yea, also I havebakedbreadupon the coalsthereof; I haveroastedflesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residuethereof an abomination? shall I falldown to the stock of a tree?
Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORDhathdone it: shout, ye lowerparts of the earth: breakforthintosinging, ye mountains, O forest, and everytreetherein: for the LORDhathredeemedJacob, and glorifiedhimself in Israel.
