And an angel of the LORDcame up fromGilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and havebrought you unto the landwhich I swareuntoyourfathers; and I said, I willneverbreak my covenantwith you.
And theyforsook the LORD God of theirfathers, whichbroughtthem out of the land of Egypt, and followedothergods, of the gods of the peoplethatwereroundaboutthem, and bowedthemselvesuntothem, and provoked the LORD to anger.
And the anger of the LORD was hot againstIsrael, and he deliveredtheminto the hands of spoilersthatspoiledthem, and he soldtheminto the hands of theirenemiesroundabout, so thattheycould not any longerstandbeforetheirenemies.
And yet theywould not hearkenuntotheirjudges, but theywent a whoringafterothergods, and bowedthemselvesuntothem: theyturnedquickly out of the way whichtheirfatherswalked in, obeying the commandments of the LORD; but they did not so.
And when the LORDraisedthem up judges, then the LORD was with the judge, and deliveredthem out of the hand of theirenemies all the days of the judge: for it repented the LORDbecause of theirgroanings by reason of themthatoppressedthem and vexedthem.
And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, thattheyreturned, and corruptedthemselvesmorethantheirfathers, in followingothergods to servethem, and to bow downuntothem; theyceased not fromtheir own doings, nor fromtheirstubborn way.
