And Joshuasaidunto all the people, Thussaith the LORD God of Israel, Yourfathersdwelt on the otherside of the flood in old time, evenTerah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and theyservedothergods.
And whentheycriedunto the LORD, he put darknessbetween you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea uponthem, and coveredthem; and youreyeshaveseenwhat I havedone in Egypt: and ye dwelt in the wilderness a longseason.
And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, whichdwelt on the othersideJordan; and theyfoughtwith you: and I gavethemintoyourhand, that ye mightpossesstheirland; and I destroyedthemfrombefore you.
And ye wentoverJordan, and cameuntoJericho: and the men of Jerichofoughtagainst you, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; and I deliveredthemintoyourhand.
And if it seemevilunto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye willserve; whether the godswhichyourfathersservedthatwere on the otherside of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whoseland ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we willserve the LORD.
For the LORD our God, he it is thatbrought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did thosegreatsigns in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the peoplethroughwhom we passed:
And Joshuasaidunto all the people, Behold, thisstoneshall be a witnessunto us; for it hathheard all the words of the LORDwhich he spakeunto us: it shall be therefore a witnessunto you, lest ye denyyour God.
And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israelbrought up out of Egypt, buriedthey in Shechem, in a parcel of groundwhichJacobbought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for an hundredpieces of silver: and it became the inheritance of the children of Joseph.
