And the LORDsaiduntoMoses, SpeakuntoAaron thy brother, that he come not at all timesinto the holyplacewithin the vailbefore the mercyseat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I willappear in the cloudupon the mercyseat.
He shall put on the holylinencoat, and he shallhave the linenbreechesupon his flesh, and shall be girdedwith a linengirdle, and with the linenmitreshall he be attired: these are holygarments; thereforeshall he wash his flesh in water, and so put them on.
Thenshall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his bloodwithin the vail, and do withthatblood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercyseat, and before the mercyseat:
And he shallmake an atonement for the holyplace, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of theirtransgressions in all theirsins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, thatremainethamongthem in the midst of theiruncleanness.
And thereshall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregationwhen he goeth in to make an atonement in the holyplace, until he come out, and havemade an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel.
And he shall go out unto the altarthat is before the LORD, and make an atonement for it; and shalltake of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altarroundabout.
And Aaronshall lay both his handsupon the head of the livegoat, and confessover him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all theirtransgressions in all theirsins, puttingthemupon the head of the goat, and shallsend him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:
And he shallwash his fleshwithwater in the holyplace, and put on his garments, and comeforth, and offer his burntoffering, and the burntoffering of the people, and make an atonement for himself, and for the people.
And the bullock for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whoseblood was brought in to makeatonement in the holyplace, shall one carryforthwithout the camp; and theyshallburn in the firetheirskins, and theirflesh, and theirdung.
And thisshall be a statute for everunto you: that in the seventhmonth, on the tenth day of the month, ye shallafflictyoursouls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a strangerthatsojournethamong you:
And the priest, whom he shallanoint, and whom he shallconsecrate to minister in the priest’soffice in his father’sstead, shallmake the atonement, and shall put on the linenclothes, even the holygarments:
And he shallmake an atonement for the holysanctuary, and he shallmake an atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar, and he shallmake an atonement for the priests, and for all the people of the congregation.
