WhereasEdomsaith, We are impoverished, but we willreturn and build the desolateplaces; thussaith the LORD of hosts, Theyshallbuild, but I willthrowdown; and theyshallcallthem, The border of wickedness, and, The peopleagainstwhom the LORDhathindignation for ever.
A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is minehonour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hostsunto you, O priests, thatdespise my name. And ye say, Whereinhave we despised thy name?
And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleasedwiththee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.
Who is thereevenamong you thatwouldshut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindlefire on minealtar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neitherwill I accept an offering at yourhand.
For from the rising of the sun evenunto the goingdown of the same my nameshall be greatamong the Gentiles; and in everyplaceincenseshall be offeredunto my name, and a pureoffering: for my nameshall be greatamong the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.
Ye saidalso, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye havesnuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye broughtthatwhich was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I acceptthis of yourhand? saith the LORD.
But cursed be the deceiver, whichhath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificethunto the Lord a corruptthing: for I am a greatKing, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadfulamong the heathen.
