And when the peoplecomplained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORDheard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORDburntamongthem, and consumedthemthatwere in the uttermostparts of the camp.
And the LORDsaiduntoMoses, Gatherunto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whomthouknowest to be the elders of the people, and officersoverthem; and bringthemunto the tabernacle of the congregation, thatthey may standtherewiththee.
And say thouunto the people, Sanctifyyourselvesagainst to morrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye havewept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shallgive us flesh to eat? for it was wellwith us in Egypt: therefore the LORDwillgive you flesh, and ye shall eat.
But even a wholemonth, until it come out at yournostrils, and it be loathsomeunto you: becausethat ye havedespised the LORDwhich is among you, and haveweptbefore him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?
And the LORDcamedown in a cloud, and spakeunto him, and took of the spiritthat was upon him, and gave it unto the seventyelders: and it came to pass, that, when the spiritresteduponthem, theyprophesied, and did not cease.
But thereremained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the otherMedad: and the spiritresteduponthem; and theywere of themthatwerewritten, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and theyprophesied in the camp.
And therewentforth a windfrom the LORD, and broughtquailsfrom the sea, and let themfall by the camp, as it were a day’sjourney on thisside, and as it were a day’sjourney on the otherside, roundabout the camp, and as it were two cubitshighupon the face of the earth.
And the peoplestood up all that day, and all thatnight, and all the next day, and theygathered the quails: he thatgatheredleastgathered ten homers: and theyspreadthem all abroad for themselvesroundabout the camp.
